In today’s blog we will be looking at how to use the C3, C7, C9, and C12 cable cutters. C3 Cutters:

The C3 has a handle spread of 5” when fully opened. The tools are specifically designed to cut very high tensile strength wire and cable with less effort than the C7 cutters. The blade has great ergonomics and should be taken care of by keeping the center bolt tight, blades cleaned, and frequently lubricated.

C7 Cutters:

The C7 is the most popular cutter and is a simple to use cutter, that can be used the exact same way as the C3 cutters. The cutters have a triangular jaw and never leave frayed ends. The C7 cuts wire rope 5/32” in diameter and smaller. Similar to the C3 cutters, taking care of the C& involves keeping the center bolt tight, blades, clean, and lubricated.

C9 Cutters:

To use the C9 cutters, lean one handle against your chest and the other one on your thigh, Then, press down with the upper part of your body without moving the positions of your hands. These two handled cable cutters weigh 1.5 lbs. and are 13” in length.

C12 Cutters:

To use the C12 cutters, sit down on the upper handle by dropping your body onto the cutter handle. These big cutters remain lightweight due to their forged aluminum handles. The tool is used for cutting wire rope, steel rod, and spring wire. The length of the C12 cutters is 19”, yet only weighs 3 lbs.
