How Do I Use C112, C16E, & CP FELCO® Cable Cutters?

For FELCO® cable cutters, each cutter has a different design. In our previous blog we looked at three different types of cable cutters and how they should be operated. Today, we will be looking at three more cutters, C112, C16E, and CP. Despite each of the cable cutters having unique capabilities, all of them are made with superior steel blades that are built to last. Continue reading to get an overview of each of these three high quality FELCO® cable cutters.

C112 Cutter:

To use the C112 cutter, you need to sit on the upper handle by keeping your balance and drop your body down onto the cutter handle. These cutters will cut through high tensile wire rope or cable up to ½” in diameter with ease. The C112’s cut hard steel rods up to 5/16” in diameter. The cutters are 29” in length and weigh 8.25 lbs. To make the cutters have a long service life, keep the center bolt tight, blades clean, and lubricated.

C16E Cutter:

Similar to the C112 cutters, the C16E is used by sitting down on the upper handle by keeping your balance and dropping your body on the cutter handle. The C16E is a modified version of the C16 cutters, however the C16E is especially designed for cutting electrical cables. The C16E’s cut up to ¾” diameter electrical cable and is 23” in length. Like the C112, you should keep your center bolt tight, blades clean, and lubricated.

CP Cutter:

The CP cutter is a small tool used for steek strapping and banding. There is a thumb latch that locks the cutter when not in use. The cutters only weight 10 oz and is 8” in length. The tool is ideal for cutting rope, heavy string, twine, and tin.
