Loos and Company Medical Technologies Division manufactures ELASTICORE® medical extrusion core wire as a replacement for the copper and clad copper products currently available to medical tubing extruders. ELASTICORE® is proven to eliminate the potential of contamination, which is common with silver clad or tin clad copper. Being composed of two separate metals, silver and copper or tin and copper, bi-metallics increase the potential of flaking. Flaking leads to debris within the tubing and damaged equipment or tooling. As stainless steel is a solid material, we have found that ELASTICORE® eliminates any potential for flaking.
ELASTICORE® is available in various diameters ranging from 0.006” to 0.100” in either a bright or matte finish. In addition, our core wire has an elongation profile that exceeds 30% and deforms similar to copper.
