Mechanical Properties:

When talking about mechanical properties, we are specifically referring to yield strength, tensile strength, and elongation. These characteristics are measured at both full anneal and full hard. The yield strength of 316LVM at full anneal is 45,000 psi and 205,000 while at full hard. For tensile strength, 316LVM at full anneal is 90,000 psi and fill hard is 245,000. For elongation, full anneal is at 40%, while full hard is at 2.8%.

Chemical Composition:

There are various materials that make up 316LVM stainless steel. These materials include, Carbon, Manganese, Phosphorus, Sulfur, Silicon, Chromium, Nickel, Molybedeum, and more. You can get a full breakdown of how much each of these materials make up 316LVM stainless steel by checking out our informative table here.

Physical Properties:

To measure the physical properties of stainless steel 316LVM wire, we use density, modulus of elasticity, electrical restivity, and thermal connectivity. Here is a table that displays these different properties!

The alloy is vacuum melted in order to achieve the highest possible levels of purity and cleanliness required the medical industry. Some of the main characteristics of the alloy are its high resistance to physiological environments, general & intergranular corrosion, putting, and crevice corrosion.
