Stainless SteelIf it's important your material be corrosion-resistant, look no further than stainless steel. This material withstands the elements by detracting rust, and does not degrade. Stainless steel is one of the most popular products in machining, especially in the way it withstands many environmental conditions.
Brass
If price is an important factor, you might consider brass. Brass is unique in that it holds threads and other intricate shapes well. By appearance, brass is in a class of its own. Unlike the grey appearance of other materials, brass has an apparent yellow-gold finish. While it is heavier than others and less strong, brass is a more affordable option for those who are cost-conscious.
Aluminum
Aluminum is a versatile material that is both lightweight and corrosive-resistant. Titanium
If you need a material of strength, titanium might be what you need for your application. While lightweight, titanium is also distinctly strong. In fact, it is twice the strength of aluminum and is non-magnetic which means it is well-suited for
aircraft applications. Further, it is nontoxic which is why it is often used in medical applications without the body rejecting it. Considered an exotic metal, it is most commonly at a higher price point than other forms of materials but its unique quality is sets it apart.
