If you are interested in cable assemblies, knowing about some of the different types available is crucial. In today’s blog we will be looking at aircraft, military, and lock-clad cable assemblies. Military Cable Assemblies:
At Loos and Company we build assemblies for all types of military applications. More specifically, we reference NSN’s, part numbers, or drawing numbers to help with your design. Military assemblies are required to be flexible enough to withstand twisting and frequent stretching is crucial. Also, these cable assemblies must be highly durable due to the intense stress that is caused in many military related applications.
Aircraft Control Assemblies:
Loos and Company supplies cable assemblies to Bombardier, Lockheed Martin, and many other aircraft manufacturers. We are qualified to manufacture to Boeing and Douglas specifications, with almost all Boeing aircraft being equipped with our cable. There are a wide range of control mechanisms in an aircraft flight control system, meaning that our assemblies are integral to a wide range of uses.
Lock-Clad Cable Assemblies:
Lock-clad cable is manufactured by swaging tubing over cable. The cable tubing can be over ether 7x7 or 7x19 galvanized or stainless steel. The lock-clad assemblies were originally developed for aircraft control applications but are also used in industrial applications. Lock-clad is supplied almost exclusively as a complete assembly with swaged fittings attached to fit the customer's needs. You can learn more about lock-clad assemblies here.
