As many of you may already know, much of the eastern seaboard has been affected by Hurricane Irene. Connecticut was struck head on by the storm. Fortunately, Loos & Company has weathered the storm and we are in the process of returning to normal operation. Our facilities remain undamaged; however utilities have been severed across most of the state. Currently, there is the largest power outage in the history of Connecticut, with over 50% of the population left in the dark. Our internet and phone services have also been down since the beginning of the storm. Recently, we installed a diesel generator as part of the “Demand Response Program” with Connecticut Light & Power. This generator has allowed our manufacturing efforts to continue with normal operations. As of now, phone and internet companies are stating there to be an indefinite outage of service. So that we may serve our customers, we have created a temporary communication structure.
