Last Friday we set out the gauntlet to see if anyone could correctly identify a mystery piece of equipment from our facility. This week's honor goes out to Roger Wagner, who correctly identified what piece of equipment this was.
Roger swiftly identified this as a mounting press. In our Quality Control department, we are constantly testing and retesting our products to ensure that Loos & Company only puts its name to the highest grade of products. What this machine does is uses heat and high pressure to create a mold surrounding the sample that is being tested. The output is a hockey puck shaped cylinder which makes cross sectional analysis under a microscope possible. The picture to the left illustrates an example of one of these "pucks."
Once under the microscope, you are able to see the cross section of the cable and hardware that has been swaged. This image is zoomed in on center of the cable, where you are able to see the individual wires that make up this cable's construction. Viewing from this perspective ensures that our products meet the strict standards that we set for them.
To learn more about our quality systems (ISO 9001:2008, AS/EN/JISQ 9100 Rev B, and more), specifications, registrations, and QPL's, please view our Quality Control webpage. That takes care of this edition of Loos & Company What is it? Please stayed tuned in the coming weeks for our next edition.
