Customers often ask for product certifications ahead of shipment, often as part of a bid process or to show their customers that the product is actually made by Loos & Company. As the title of this article suggests, we can’t satisfy this request. Here’s the reason:

We provide certification for the actual material we ship. Our certifications are for a specific lot of cable, not the product in general, and provide detailed traceability and material information. In the time between quote and shipment, we can go through many manufacturing lots of cable, meaning a certification we provide for a specific lot of material at the time of quote most likely will not be available at the time of shipment.

So, because we provide the certification for the actual lot we ship to a customer, and because we don’t know exactly what lot we will be shipping you, we can’t provide the certification for cable we haven’t shipped yet!

Given this, you may be asking yourself: If I can’t send certifications, how can I get information to my customer about the product that Loos & Company will be providing?
