Loos & Company has completed upgrades to its wire manufacturing operation with the installation of a third new, in-line, ultrasonic wire cleaner. The new equipment adds state of the art capacity to complete a wire mill expansion project which we began in the spring of this year. “We’re very excited to have the additional capacity,” according to Wire Mill general manager Joe Stagon ”We’ve been able to both improve product quality, increase output, and continue to support our expanding customer base”.

The additional capacity marks a continuance of planned upgrades that we’re making to our equipment and facilities. The cleaning line upgrade provides more throughput of upstream wire products into our specialized product manufacturing divisions. “We have seen an increase in business across our entire product line over the last few months“, says Wire Mill Sales Manager Mike Fredrickson, “and our new equipment has allowed us to keep up with customer demands, in both quantity and quality“.

As a sign of commitment to the medical wire and cable market, the Medical Technologies Division has completed construction of an additional 10,000 square feet of production space. With the recent expansion, we have also invested in new fine wire drawing equipment, which we plan to have producing at full capacity by early next year.

And we’re not done. Additional investments are planned for the coming months. We’re focusing on the expansion of specialty wire drawing and coiling for products destined for resource recovery and energy production. We’ll be sure to update you when we’re closer to completion.
